After 29 editions of the Saxon Bohemian Orienteering Days, there will be a change at the top of the event next year. Volker Ender will hand over the scepter to Peter Kudraß. In preparation for the coming season, the first directions has already been set with the support of Consulting Härtelt GmbH.
Today it is difficult to say exactly how many editions Volker was in charge of. In any case, it was a lot, coupled with a lot of responsibility year after year to steer everything in an orderly fashion and to bring their own demands for beautiful and challenging competitions in line with the framework conditions of the authorities, companies or private individuals on site. Thus, the position of the overall manager is fraught with a lot of responsibility and coordination skills, in order to keep the wheels turning in the various sub-areas. Together with all club members and helpers, Volker has established one of the largest orienteering events in Germany over the past decades and has also set new standards. So it is more than understandable that there was the wish to hand over this responsibility a little bit and to support more from the background in the two coming years with the essential votes.
For many years, Peter Kudraß (Head of Department Orienteering SG Zittau Süd) has been involved and, like Volker, is very well networked in the German-Czech border region. He has also been active in the past as an overall manager by proxy. In combination with the established structures and the growing number of members and supporters of the organizing orienteering clubs, we look forward to the next edition of the SAXBO with confidence.
