New presentation standard comes into force

January 2nd, 2020

With the turn of the year a new presentation rule for sprint maps is binding. Therefore, the maps for the sprint competitions in Zittau have been drawn after the so-called ISSprOM 2019. There are some differences to earlier representations.

Participants at German Orienteering Championships understandably have high demands on the map material. At the Saxon-Bohemian Orienteering Days the maps have been produced by a professional Czech team for many years. In the neighbouring country there is traditionally a very high level of map production.

Differences between the new ISSprOM and earlier sprint maps are, for example, the omission of the black and green vegetation display or the new colour intensity display for traffic areas. New symbols are also intended to make the maps easier to read.

These new representations should also be internalized by the participants in order to be prepared in the best possible way and to avoid a possible disqualification when crossing prohibited areas.
