The 31st Saxon-Bohemian Orienteering Days are now history. The competitions always include a second part - the so-called Posaxbo. This took place last weekend in Olbersdorf.
At the Posaxbo, the organizers of the Zittau clubs, the Czech OK Chrastava and all helpers meet in a relaxed atmosphere. Alternating between the German and Czech sides, the event is always about mutual exchange, framed by a small sports program.
The competition center this year was the sports field in Olbersdorf. Ninett and Patrick had laid out relay courses of different lengths around the sports field, based on the 2x24-minute orienteering event organized by SV Hildesia Diekholzen. There were also 2 children's orienteering courses for the German and Czech youngsters. The aim was to run as many courses as possible in mixed teams until dark on Saturday. Depending on the age of the runners, there were different levels of difficulty in connection with the length of the course.
After the challenging sporting activity, around 70 people met for food and drink in the packed clubhouse. In addition to the award ceremony, past events and all kinds of topics were discussed in German and Czech until the early hours of the morning.
The planning for the 32nd edition of the Saxon-Bohemian Orienteering Days was of course also a topic of the weekend.
A total of 3 events will be organized from 25 - 26 May 2024. In addition to a long-distance event in the rocky terrain near Jonsdorf, a middle distance and a relay event are on the agenda for the Czech stage. All participants can once again look forward to the usual challenging competitions with strong Czech competitors and a comprehensive children's and recreational sports program.
