SAXBO 2022 - Tschechische Etappe

In contrast to many past SAXBO events, the weather gods showed themselves from their best side on Saturday. With temperatures around 15 degrees, numerous participants from the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and other European countries enjoyed the spring-like flair in the spacious competition centre. The races in many categories were characterised by numerous metres of altitude and route choices around the Schafberg. The main classes were won by Barbora Matějková in the women's category, 3 seconds ahead of Patricia Nieke (both OOB TJ Turnov). Philipp Müller (Post SV Dresden) took the day's victory in the men's category.

In the run-up to the anniversary event, the MDR television channel had announced its intention to take a closer look at popular and family sports. The Förster family was accompanied during the stage. The report was then broadcast on MDR Sachsenspiegel.

In addition to the competition, there was an extensive supporting programme with mass sports activities, child care and children's orienteering.

The German stage will take place on Sunday in Jonsdorf.
