In the following of this year's Saxon-Bohemian Orienteering Days we would like to thank you for the feedback. On site and by mail we received numerous comments, some of which we would like to publish.
Due to the current conditions it was a very special SAXBO this year. Directly before the competition there was a circular mail to the Saxon clubs with the hint about the current infection events, so that many registered did not start or traveled with an uncertain feeling to Lückendorf. In contrast, we could not allow many interested at short notice to participate, because the start list was very well filled on paper. The registration in the O-Manager was deliberately closed relatively early. However, we did not expect that so many registered participants would not arrive and did not know exactly who would not come, which tickets would become free and who could be replaced in the O-Manager or the start list.
Enclosed are some examples of the feedback about our event:
"My wife and I also considered whether participating in this event was the right thing to do. I found the concept of the event convincing. There was enough free space for everyone in the WKZ, at the start and in the finish area. I also wore my "Schnuffi" at the start (I had it on anyway due to the temperatures). During the race I was mostly alone. Moreover, I think that the Czech participants were and are well aware of the situation. And nobody knows how the situation in Germany will develop further." (Feedback from Schkeuditz)
"Many thanks to the organizers from Chrastava and Zittau for the nice competition. The organizers have shown that even in the Corona period larger competitions are possible. On site all rules were respected, direct contact with other competitors could be avoided everywhere with a little attention. So we can look forward to the next Saxbo, which should take place already in half a year." (Feedback from Dresden)
"Our Zittau organizers have also done everything right. Hygiene concept, coordination with the local authorities, observance of requirements - which can be connected with partly immense costs. The fact that after the cancellation of the DM Sprint under the current conditions they still have a competition out of the ground deserves my fullest respect." (Feedback from Lengefeld)
"With the knowledge of today I would have participated. Your hygiene concept seems to be optimal for the current situation from the pictures and info - I hope that also arrived in my answer to Peter. Definitely praise to you as organizers for this." (Feedback from Dresden)
We would also have liked to publish a statement on the implementation of the competition from our state coordinator in orienteering (Saxony). However, the subsequent feedback only referred to the information given in advance, where it was communicated that at no time was asked to cancel the event and also the participants were not advised to do without it.
We hope that the situation will relax soon and that everyone will get over the next weeks and months well, so that we can stand together again at the start of orienteering events in the near future.
