More than 1100 participants started the Saturday stage of the 33rd Saxon-Bohemian Orienteering Days in the forest areas near Zdislava. Numerous meters of altitude had to be covered in mostly dry running conditions.
Even on the way to the start, it was clear that there would be two main directions over the middle distance: Up or down. Post locations were often scattered around individual stones in the mountainous and in many places easily runnable sections. In addition to many open coniferous forest sections, there were also a few diffuse thickets and clearcuts to pass.

Markéta Poloprutská (Slavia Liberec orienteering) won the highly competitive elite classes ahead of Lone Constanze Pompe (Robotron Dresden) and Karolína Kettner (OK Slavia Hradec Králové) as well as Matěj Tkáč (Team Jizerky) ahead of Tomáš Dlabaja (OOB TJ Turnov) and Wieland Kundisch (USV TU Dresden).
The supporting program also included various open lanes and beginner offers, which were very well attended. There was also a comprehensive program for children.
While there were repeated heavy rain showers in the morning, there was a long window of sunshine until almost the end of the competition. In the end, the expected rain did come and it was so heavy that the award ceremony had to be postponed until the next day.
